BJP condemns Bangalore blasts

New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) The BJP today strongly condemned the serial bomb blasts that shook Bangalore, the IT capital, and blamed it on the soft attitude of the Centre towards terror and its perpetrators.

BJP President Rajnath Singh and BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra, in separate statements, said the blasts were condemnable and felt that the terrorists were emboldened by the soft attitude of the Centre towards them to appease vote bank politics.

Mr Malhotra said the government went to the extent of accepting the support of a party like PDP in Jammu and Kashmir which sought the withdrawal of the Army from the state and also honoured Pakistani currency.

''When politics has reached such abysmal levels, these things are bound to happen,'' he added.

Mr Singh sent out instructions to Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to take strong measures to identify the culprits and extend all help and assistance to the injured people and the families of the victims.
