AIR staff protest monetary demand by militants

Imphal, Jul 25 (UNI) The staff of the All India Radio, Imphal, today staged a sit-in protest in front of their office at Palace Compound here to protest monetary demands by suspected militants.

Functioning of the AIR was, however, not affected by the protest.

The staff said monetary demands should not be imposed on them as they carry out public service.

Of late government employees had been protesting monetary demands imposed on them by various insurgent outfits operating in the state.
