Four held in rowdy murder case in Kancheepuram

Kancheepuram, July 25: Four persons were arrested on Thursday, July 24 evening in connection with the murder of a notorious rowdy.

Police said Vignesh (22), who was involved in several cases, had been arrested under the Goondas Act. On 23 July, he was released from prison on completion of the one year term under the Act. On Thursday, July 24 evening, Vignesh went to his relative Saravanan's house in Poyyakulam and picked up a quarrel with his wife Lata. Lata immediately called up Saravanan (34) who rushed to the house along with his father Santhanam (65) and brothers Bala (28) and Kandavel (22).

A wordy duel ensued following which the four stabbed and seriously injured Vignesh. Vignesh was rushed to the hospital where he died. Police launched a manhunt for the quartet who gave the slip. Finally, they were caught while boarding a bus to Vellore.
