3 died in 3 months in police custody
Bangalore, Jul 25 (UNI) Three persons died in police custody in the last three months in Karnataka, State Home Minister V S Acharya informed the Assembly.
In a written reply to K Prathapachandra Shetty (Congress), Dr Acharya said yesterday that two lock-up deaths were reported in two seperate police stations in Bangalore City, while the third took place in Udupi District.
Replying to Shashil Namoshi (BJP), the Minister said as many as 24 persons were arrested in connection with terror activities during the last one year.
The State Intelligence Department, which was engaged in collecting information on anti-national activities and other related issues, was facing shortage of staff.
