2 more taluks to K'taka District
Madikeri, Karnataka, July 25 (UNI) Kodagu, which is the smallest district with only three taluks, will have two more.
A meeting was held here yesterday with Deputy Commissioner who appointed a committee headed by Assistant Commissioner Akram Pasha and directed him to prepare a detailed report.
The district administration has considered the long pending demand from the residents of Kushalnagar and Ponnampet to convert them into taluks.
The meeting decided to collect statistics, prepare sketch and submit the final report by July 29.
The meeting was held to finalise the demand as the government had already discussed in detail the pros and cons of forming a new taluk with various organisations, people's representatives and citizens.
