State to prepare plan to reduce river pollution

Mumbai, July 24 (UNI) Maharashtra water resources minister Ajit Pawar today announced in the legislative council that the government will soon draw a plan to reduce the pollution level in rivers.

Mr Pawar said that a water quality report prepared by various agencies would be presented before the cabinet and then the government will come out with an action plan.

As many as 11 suggestions were given by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board over the solution after looking at the sample of 1,000 rivers.

The report would be discussed in the cabinet, Mr Pawar added.
