Rajkumar Santoshi receive threats from Lakdawala gang

Mumbai, Jul 24: Bollywood film-maker Rajkumar Santoshi has lodged a complaint that he had received threats for extortion from fugitive gangster Ezaz Lakdawala.

Juhu police has confirmed that Mr Santoshi lodged the complaint on Saturday July 19. It may be recalled that a close associate of Lakdawala gang, arrested in Lucknow last year, had revealed that he was assigned to eliminate Mr Santoshi and a playback singer as they had refused to pay extortion money to the gang.

Bollywood has always been a soft target for extortion but in recent years, especially after invoking of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, police had claimed that most of the operatives have been arrested and the Bollywood no longer needed to live in the fear of the underworld.
