Parents roped-in to ensure timely Tetanus immunisation
Chandigarh, July 24 (UNI) The Department of Health and Family Welfare has decided to rope-in parents of school-going children in the Union Teritory to ensure timely Tetanus Toxoid immunization, of the vulnerable group.
The department has made available self-sticking stickers with schedule of immunisation, to be pasted on the diaries of the students studying in Class Vth to class Xth.
Even though Chandigarh has been validated for Tetanus elimination status as per the survey conducted by World Health Organization, it is still recommended to receive the required doses of tetanus toxoid.
Dr M.S. Bains, Director Health and Family Welfare has appealed to all parents to ensure and adhere to the complete immunization schedule for their child.
The Vaccines are administered by the Auto Disable Syringes which are made available free of cost at all the health facilities in UT, Chandigarh.
