PAC panel of AP discuss pending audit items with CAG

New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) A delegation of Public Accounts Committee of Andhra Pradesh Legislature today discussed the issues concerning resolution of pending audit items mentioned by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

The nine-member panel led by PAC Chairman Y Ramakrishnudu had detailed discussions with Mr Vinod Rai, the CAG. Responding to queries of the PAC members, the CAG advised the panel to procure documents pertaining to any audit item from the officers concerned or directly from Lokayukta, as the case may be.

The PAC could also consider Speaker's intervention if there was no cooperation forthcoming from the officials. The PAC could also consider a judicious mix of both old issues and the new ones as the state had a large number of pending paras concerning audit items.

The PAC invited the CAG to visit the state which was accepted by Mr Rai.

The members who attended the meeting were Mr G Venkata Reddy, Mr N Varadarajulu Reddy, Mr Malreddy Ranga Reddy (From the state Assembly) and Mr Ch Sudhakar Rao, Mr D Rami Reddy, (Members of legislative Council).

Mr Komireddy Ramulu, Mr G S S Sivaji, both MLAs along with Mr Sidda Raghava Rao, Mr B Raghavendra Reddy from the Upper House were present in their capacity as special invitees.
