Mumbai, Jul 24 (UNI) Taking great exception to the way business was concluded yesterday in the Maharashtra assembly amid pandemonium, Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar today directed that hence forth business will not be conducted in such a manner.

Responding to the point of propriety raised by BJP group leader Eknath Khadse, Mr Kupekar expressed his anguish over the issue.

''I am pained to see that Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and other senior ministers did not intervene when the business was carried forward amidst the din,'' he observed.

Senior members Ganpatrao Deshmukh (PWP), Gopinath Munde (BJP) and Leader of the Opposition Ramdas Kadam also joined Mr Khadse in expressing their anguish over the incident.

They reminded Chief Minister and his deputy's assurances that business would not be conducted without proper discussion and amidst pandemonium.

PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal, while defending the Treasury benches, said the Opposition should have voluntarily stopped pressing for their demands after the business started.

''The government would never allow any business to be conducted without discussion,'' he added.
