Mobile jammers, CCTVs in Kannur jail
Kannur, Jul 23 (UNI) Mobile jammers and security cameras are being fixed in Kannur Central Jail to monitor the movements of prisoners.
Jail I G Paul Lesly told newspersons here today that mobile jammers and close circuit TV cameras would be operational within one month.
The Rs 42 lakh Centrally-aided project was commissioned by Keltron.
He said 12 mobile jammers have been fitted at Kannur Central Jail and one at nearby Women's block. As many as 17 revolving video cameras and five fixed cameras were installed at the entrances and inside the blocks.
Several mobile phones and sim cards were recovered from prisoners of the Kannur Central Jail earlier.
