Decision to expel Somnath taken long back: Biman Bose
Purulia, Jul 24 (UNI) CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose today said the decision to expel Somnath Chatterjee from the party was taken when he refused to resign from the post of the Lok Sabha Speaker.
After attending a meeting at the district party office here, Mr Bose told newspersons that the decision was executed yesterday.
Asked if Mr Chatterjee was earlier informed of the party's decision, Mr Bose said he was asked to resign when the party withdrew its support to the UPA government at the Centre.
''He did not listen to it,'' he added.
''I would not like to make any comment on Mr Chatterjee,'' he said, parrying further questions.
