25% power cut for industries in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, July 24 (UNI) Faced with an acute power crisis, Kerala will impose 25 per cent power cut on industrial units from tomorrow.

Official sources said the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission approved a proposal from the state electricity board to impose 25 per cent power cut to high tension and extra high tension consumers.It would come into effect from tomorrow morning.

Half-an-hour cyclic load shedding during peak hours was already in force for domestic consumers in the state.

Kerala, which mainly depends on hydroelectric power, was facing a major crisis due to weak monsoon.
