Youth lands behind bars for sending obscene SMS

Tiruchirapalli, Jul 23: Police have arrested a diploma holder in Computer Engineering on the charge of sending an obscene SMS to a woman here last month.

A police release here today said the woman's husband, an industrialist residing in Thillai Nagar, lodged a complaint in this regard through e-mail to the City Police Commissioner. Based on this, police registered a case and detected that Rajkumar of Kannathankudi Keezhaiyur village in Thanjavur district had sent the message from a missing cell phone of one Veeramani alias Pandi. He was arrested on Monday July 21 and remanded to judicial custody.
