TNAU signs MOUs with private firms

Coimbatore, Jul 23 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) signed MOUs with three private firms here today to commercialse them and ensure that the technologies and products reach the farmers in time and in required quantity.

In a press release, Varsity Vice Chancellor DR C Ramasamy said the university had signed MOUs with Sri Siva Bio-Tech for TNAU Panchagavya, KSNM to produce and Marketing for Device , to remove insect eggs from pulse seeds and Dhanalakshmi Agro foods for Preparation of ''Ready to cook mix and food from pearl millet'' - both technology and machine.

He said Panchagavya, made out of ghee, milk, curd, cow's urine,cow dung, sugarcane juice or jaggery, tender coconut water and ripe banana, is a biostimulant, which gives resistance against pest and diseases and enhances germination of seeds and vigour index of seedlings. It is recommended for all the crops as foliar spray at 3% level.

The technology ''ready to cook mix and food from pearl millet'' - The machine is useful to process the pearl millet and to prepare a mix. This nutritious mix can be mixed with water, cooked both in pressure cooker and ordinary vessel over wooden stove and consumed with sambar, rasam and curd or butter milk, the vice chancellor added.
