Thar Express' frequency to be increased
Barmer, Jul 23 (UNI) A proposal for running Munabao-Khokhrapar Thar Express between India and Pakistan twice a week is being considered by the government, official sources said here.
The sources said Pakistan Railway Board had already forwarded it's consent to its Indian counterpart for increasing frequency of this international train service, which is presently being run once in a week.
The Indian government had already sought a report from security and intelligence agencies on the proposal.
The weekly train service between the two countries has been attracting good number of passengers as on most of its run, the train carried around 1,000 passengers against capacity of 750.
Local MP Manvendra Singh has also been constantly raising demand to increase frequency of the train.
