Separate Gurdwara commitee demand has no mass support
Ambala, July 23 ( UNI) The SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar during his visit to the historical gurudwara Panjokhra Sahib on the occasion of the three-day Jor Mela, today stated that supporters of separate gurudwara management committee in Haryana, led by Jagdish Singh Jhinda, had no following among Sikh masses.
Asserting that the SGPC had been paying special attention for the development and maintenance of Sikh shrines in Haryana, Mr Makkar denied that funds collected from Haryana gurudwaras were not being spent on the maintenance of these shrines.
He said that the Sikh organisations had been strengthened after Sukhbir Badal took over the charge of SAD Badal and he was paying special attention to strengthen the Haryana unit. He exhorted the separatists to join the main stream to strengthen the SAD Badal party.
Mr Makkar said that the Panjokhra Sahib Degree college which discontinued holding the classes during the previous academic sessions, would start from the next academic session.
In reply to a question, he criticized the Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim and demanded that he should be arrested because he was spreading hatred among the people.
