Kharge condemns govt decision to impose load-shedding
Bangalore, July 23 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative assembly Mallikarjun Kharge today said the state government, instead of imposing unscheduled load-shedding should make arrangement's for getting power from other states where it is in surplus.
Mr Kharge told reporters here the decision of the government to enforce load-shedding in July and August will put the people to hardships, particularly the farmers. It will be a big set back for industrial and farm production in the state.
''This decision announced in the assembly by Energy Minister K S Eshwarappa needs to be condemned and it is evident that the BJP government is going back on its promises made in its manifesto particularly the free supply of power to farmers,'' he alleged.
Mr Kharge spoke his mind to the media as he was not present in the House when the Energy Minister made the statement earlier in the day.
