Gold August, October contracts down

Mumbai, July 23 (UNI) Gold August 08 and October 08 contracts today receded by 2.11 per cent each, to Rs 12,798 and Rs 12,922 per 10 gms, in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Silver September 08 contract lost by 2.08 per cent to Rs 24,639 per kg, while Platinum September 08 contract was down by 4.61 per cent to Rs 24,353 per 10 grams.

Most metal contracts declined including aluminium September 08 contract, which fell by 3.86 per cent to Rs 127 per kg, copper August 08 contract by 1.53 pc to Rs 341.85 per kg, lead July 08 contract by 1.79 per cent to Rs 90.40 per kg and nickel July 08 contract by 1.32 per cent to Rs 864.20 per kg.

Zinc July 08 contract, however, gained by 1.78 per cent at Rs 80 per kg and tin September 08 contract was up by 0.31 per cent at Rs 1,035 per kg.

Mentha oil October 08 contract was up by 1.93 per cent to Rs 774.50 per kg and platinum September 08 contract fell by 4.61 per cent to Rs 24,353 per 10 gms, an MCX release said.
