DAVP executive gets 2-year RI for accepting bribe 22 yrs ago
New Delhi, Jul 23 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a former media executive of Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity(DAVP) to two-year Rigorous Imprisonment(RI) for accepting bribe in a 22-year- old case.
Harnam Singh had on October 4, 1985 demanded a sum of Rs 1500 from Muneshwar Singh, the publisher of a weekly magazine, Sambhav. This weekly was delisted from the panel of publications entitled for government advertisements.
Harnam was caught accepting the bribe by CBI.
The court headed by Special CBI Judge Vinod Goyal also imposed a fine of Rs 7500 on the accused, who is presently 78 years old.
