BJP workers attack Sangliyana's office
Bangalore, Jul 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers on Wednesday, July 23 attacked the office of party MP H D Sangliyana for voting in favour of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government during the trust vote in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 22.
The workers, shouting slogans, ransacked the furniture and damaged the window panes. Similar protests were also reported from the office of Mr Manjunath Kunnur, who also voted in favour of the UPA, in Koppal. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, when approached by reporters after a KSTDC function, declined to speak on the subject, saying ''I am busy, I have to rush to the Vidhana Soudha since the Assembly session has begun.'' Condemning the attack in the Legislative Assembly, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge demanded protection for the elected representatives, which the Chief Minister assured him.
Congress workers in Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli-Dharwad and Mangalore on Tuesday, July 22, celebrated the UPA's victory by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
