{image-Lok sabha1_23072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Jul 23: The UPA government won the Trust vote which was moved on Monday, July 21. But the dramatic events happened in the Parliament during the day of trust vote has disgraced the Indain Democracy. As the Indian Parliament debated the trust motion on Tuesday, July 22, perhaps many did not realise that the event was being watched live across the world, not just by the Indian Diaspora, but also in the newsrooms of leading international media organisations.
The noisy manner of the debate and finally the placing of wads of currency was perhaps, the lowest point that Indian democracy could have reached. Currency notes were placed as evidence of corruption, but no name of the giver of such ill-gotten money was forthcoming or forwarded. All one can say at this moment is that the pride which India has hailed its democracy, was sullied by this incident.
The dramatic event unfold when three Madhya Pradesh BJP MPs showcase the alleged money given to them by Samajwadi Party. An amount of Rs 3 crore was given to them to vote in favour of the UPA govt in the trust vote on Tuesday, July 22. The 3 MPs- Ashok Argal, Mahavir Bhagora, Faggan Singh presented this money in the well of the House when the session was in full process.
Such an incident has occured for the first time in the history of Indian Parliament.
