TDP dubs UPA govt's tactics to win trust vote as illegal
New Delhi, Jul 22 (UNI) Opposing the confidence motion moved by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Lok Sabha, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader K Yerrannaidu today alleged the PM's Office had become a counter for political deals to win support.
The leader of the 3-member TDP group in the House also charged the UPA government with using state instruments like the CBI to browbeat MPs into supporting the Indo-US nuclear deal which, he said, was not in the interest of the nation.
He said that never in the history of trust vote a government had committed such ''illegal, immoral and unethical'' acts as committed by the UPA government.
Calling for postponig the nuke deal, Mr Yerrannaidu urged for a consensus instead of unilateralism on it.
