Phagwara residents block traffic following power cut

Phagwara, Jul 22 (UNI) Residents blocked vehicular traffic on the national highway near the General Bus Stand here in protest against unscheduled power cuts in several localities of Phagwara town late last night.

Several localities, including Gaushala Bazaar, Subhash Nagar and Cinema Road, went without power supply from 1700 hrs to 0100 hours.

They raised slogans against PSEB authorities, urging them not to resort to unscheduled power cuts.

Long Queues of vehicles remained stranded during the blockade which was, however, lifted after the intervention by local officials who rushed to the site.

Officials said that power supply had to be cut off due to technical snag in the lines.
