National Conference to vote for UPA govt
New Delhi, Jul 22 (UNI) Announcing National Conference's 2-member support to Prime Minister's confidence motion in the Lok Sabha today, party leader Omar Farooq Abdullah made a frontal attack on the Left who, he said, had treated him an ''untouchable'' when he was in the BJP-led NDA government.
Speaking in favour of the trust vote in the House, he said the same Left parties now wanted him to join secular forces.
He said he was neither a member of the UPA nor wanted to be one but added ''We have shaken hands with secular forces ... (hence) we support this Prime Minister'' to repeated thumping of desks by Congress leaders, including Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
