Minor electrocuted; mob blocked highway

Ferozabad, Jul 22 (UNI) People created a ruckus and blocked a national highway after a 9-year-old was electrocuted in Murlinagar area here today.

The incident occurred when Lala (9), the only son of Rajkumar, stepped upon the live wire, which was lying on the road, police said.

Blaming the power department of negligence, people created ruckus and demanded action against the guilty officials.

They alleged that a naked-wire was lying on the road since yesterday and no one from the department responded even after complaint.

Had the officials not given a deaf ear to the complaint, the minor would have been alive, they added.

The irate mob also blocked the Agra-Kanpur national highway, which could only be lifted after the senior officials intervened into the matter.
