Khushiram Balnatah new state Cooperative Bank Chairman

Shimla, Jul 22 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and general secretary of Himachal unit of the party was today unanimously elected Chairman of State Cooperative Bank here today.

He was nominated member of Board of Directors of the bank by the government few days ago.

Associated with cooperative movement since 1990, Mr Balnatah was elected Director of HIMFED during the same year and remained active in cooperative sector.

He had been opposing the former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh from Rohroo assembly Constituency since 1990 elections and during the 2007 Assembly elections he increased his vote percentage by more than 50 per cent making serious dent in the stronghold of Singh.

Mr Balnatah also remained Vice Chairman of HRTC during 1990-92 and 1998-2003 and also office bearer of the partry.
