Dalmia Cement unit to set up new plants

Mumbai, July 22 (UNI) Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited today said its unit, Dalmia Cement Ventures Ltd, would set up cement plants in phases with a total annual capacity of 10 million tonnes.

The Company, however, did not divulge the total investment in the project.

Dalmia Cement currently operates a 3.5 million tonnes per annum cement plant in Tamil Nadu and was setting up two new plants in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu of two million tonnes each, a Company release said.

Ahead of the news, shares in the parent Company ended 0.39 per cent down at Rs 217 in the Mumbai market, a leading broker added.
