UBS inaugurates 'CHORD Ashirwaad' school
Hyderabad, Jul 21: UBS India Service Centre (UBS) today inaugurated CHORD Ashirwaad, a residential English medium Higher Secondary School, at Bachupally in the city as part of its community affairs programme.
UBS, through the school, reaffirmed its long relationship with CHORD (Child Welfare and Holistic Organisation for Rural Development) and its commitment to strengthen the communities in which it operates, a release said here.
CHORD, a non-profit voluntary organisation, rescues, rehabilitates and integrates child labourers through their residential school projects.
UBS was partnered with CHORD to support their projects to bring child labourers back into normal schools through a bridge education programme, so that the children could pursue further schooling independently.
By supporting CHORD in building and running a high school in the campus, UBS wanted to prevent dropouts and ensure that the children complete their secondary education.
