Two Congress factions clash
Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Jul 21 (UNI) Two groups of Congress workers today clashed at the venue for a membership enrolment drive launched in Nalgonda town in this district today.
The trouble began when the irate supporters of senior Congress leader and Telangana Regional Development Board Chairman U Purushottam Reddy threw chairs on the supporters of State IT Minister Damodar Reddy following an 'objectionable statement' made by him against the chairman in the presence of State Home Minister K Jana Reddy.
In a sharp reaction, Mr Damodar Reddy's supporters pushed Mr Purushottam Reddy who fell to the floor. This provoked a similar reaction from the supporters of Board Chairman and led to the clash.
