Rs 3.5 cr more revenue from modified coaches in Sampoorna Kranti Exp
Patna, Jul 21 (UNI) The East Central Railways have introduced modified coaches in Sampoorna Kranti Express which will yield additional revenue of Rs 3.5 crore per year.
Divisional Railway Manager of Danapur division B D Garg said here today under the new arrangement, 99 additional berths had been made available in this particular train running between Patna and New Delhi, to cope with the increasing rush of passengers.
''Sampoorna Kranti Express has the full load combination of 24 bogies,'' he said, adding that the number of berths had been increased from 72 to 81 in each sleeper bogey.
Mr Garg said the Railways also intended to increase the berth capacity of each sleeper coach from 72 to 81 in other mail and express trains to cope with the rush of passengers.
Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Animesh Sinha supervised the conversion of old sleeper coaches to modified bogies.
