My victory is a victory for democracy: Yadav
Kathmandu, Jul 21 (UNI) Nepal newly-elected President Ram Baran Yadav today said his election as head of the state is a victory for democracy.
''This is a victory for democracy. This is a victory for all Nepali people,'' the President said after meeting Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at his residence Baluwatar.
''I want to thank all the members of the Constituent Assembly,'' he said.
The President went to the Pashupatinath temple in the evening and paid homage to the Lord.
The newly-elected President is set to be sworn in on Wednesday, said Dr Ramhari Aryal, Secretary at the Office of the President.
An official function will be held during the swearing-in by inviting high-level officials and diplomats. As per the constitution, the Chief Justice will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the President.
