MPSMC team visits Indore

Indore, July 21 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh State Minorities Commission (MPSMC) Chairman Anwar Mohammad Khan today said that the communal violence here on July 3, during a Vishva Hindu Parishad-sponsored Bharat Bandh over the Amarnath land allotment issue, was not preplanned.

''An atmosphere of terror still prevails in the affected areas,'' he alleged to mediapersons after visiting the areas. Mr Khan differed with the National Commission for Minorities' opinion that the disturbances were pre-planned.

Blaming the banned Students Islamic Movement of India for the violence, MPSMC Member Sam Pawri said that inflammatory speeches were delivered in Khajrana and other areas.

Expressing satisfaction over the state government's steps for the victims, Mr Khan said, ''the administration is monitoring the situation and the MPSMC will submit its report to the regime.'' UNI XC-AC 2018
