Nashik, Jul 21 (UNI) BJP MP from Malegaon Harishchandra Chavan left for New Delhi today.
Mr Chavan left for Ojhar airport, 21 km away from here, in an ambulance at 2030 hrs from Suyash Hospital, where he was admitted since June 10. He was accompanied by his wife Kalawati Chavan, a doctor from the hospital, BJP state unit general secretary Eknath Khadse and many other party leaders.
From Ojhar, Mr Chavan will be taken to New Delhi by special air ambulance to take part in the crucial session of Parliament in New Delhi tomorrow, which will decide the fate of the UPA Government at the Centre.
The air ambulance with all the necessary facilities will have two doctors and one nurse to look after Mr Chavan. Arrangements have been made at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for his care during his stay in New Delhi.
Earlier in the day, there were speculations whether Mr Chavan will or will not participate in Parliament's crucial session, where every vote is crucial. However, in the evening, Mr Eknath Khadse met Mr Chavan and inquired about his health. Thereafter, the decision was taken.
''I am going for a good cause. Therefore, I took blessings of Sai Baba. I was sure that I would go to New Delhi to vote, but there were few problems like arranging for the air ambulance and clearance from doctors,'' Mr Chavan said before departure. He attended an 'Aarti' at the hospital earlier.
''His vote can be crucial in defeating the UPA Government in Parliament. In case the government gets defeated, we would prefer fresh mandate by people instead of forming government at the Centre,'' Mr Khadse told journalists earlier.
