Flight carrying CMs returns after bomb threat

Bangalore, Jul 21 (UNI) Delhi-bound Jet Airways Flight carrying Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh returned to base immediately after take-off today following alleged bomb threat.

According to sources, Hyderabad International Airport, which received an anonymous call about a bomb in the Bangalore-Delhi Jet Airways Flight and alerted the Bangalore International Airport Authorities in this regard. The flight, which had taken off just minutes before, was immediately asked to return.

Soon after the landing, Mr Yeddyurappa and Mr Singh were escorted to safety and after passengers were asked to disembark. Bomb disposal squad and police took up a thorough search. Each and every piece of luggage was subjected to check.

Sources said only after a thorough search it can be known whether the call was hoax or not. However, precautionary measure had been taken and men were at work.

Mr Yeddyurappa and Dr Singh continued their onward journey to New Delhi in another flight later.
