EU congratulates Yadav
Kathmandu, Jul 21 (UNI) The European Union heads of mission here have congratulated the first President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, on his election to the top position.
''This is a historic day. It is a decisive moment for the democratic process and building a stable, prosperous future that the people of Nepal justly deserve,'' the EU heads of mission said in a statement.
They also assured that the EU would continue its support to Nepal to help secure peace, democracy and development.
Dr Yadav has been elected the first President of the Himalayan nation defeating Maoist candidate Ram Raja Prasad Singh.
