British citizenship for just 200 pounds

London, July 21 : Illegal immigrants might soon get British citizenship by just paying 200 pounds, if a bizarre policy of the Liberal Democrats is made into a law.

According to a party think-tank, the country's half-a-million illegals should be allowed to sign up for an "enrolment period".

The scheme could mean that anyone who manages to stay in Britain undetected for three months could pay 200 pounds to enroll, followed by five installments of 1,000 pounds over the following five years, as quoted in the Daily Star.

Once they have completed their enrolment, which includes getting a job, paying taxes and learning English, they would be given permission to live here permanently.

The Liberal Democrats claim the scheme would help the Government weed out dangerous illegal migrants, who are planning terror attacks.

However, critics have condemned the proposal as mad, saying it would lead to an influx of millions of more immigrants to an overcrowded Britain.
