BCIL bags award for sustainable development
Bangalore, July 21 (UNI) City-based Biodiversity Conservation India Limited (BCIL) has won the prestigious 'Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Award' from Japan, for its sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
The award is given to business organisations which nurture unique practices in sustainable development, a release said here today.
BCIL is the first Indian business enterprise to win this award.
BCIL had competed with entries from over 70 countries in Asia. The award would be given out at a meeting in Philippines in August this year.
Company CEO Chandrashekar Hariharan said ''we are extremely happy that BCIL is getting global recognition in the area of sustainable development.'' The award was given for outstanding achievements in promoting environmental management and sustainable development by the companies in Asia and Pacific.
