'Audi A4' launched in Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 21: Audi AG, a leading German luxury car manufacturer, launched its new 'Audi A4' in the city at a glittering function on Sunday, July 20th night.

Announcing the launch, Company Vice-President (Marketing) Martin Birkner said the 'Audi A4,' which bagged a number of awards in Europe and Germany, was sure to attract the premier class in Bangalore. He said the company targeted a sale of 1,000 units in India by the end of this year as against 300 sold last year.

The new car, priced at Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom in Mumbai), would please car lovers who wanted luxury and safety in driving. ''The new car comes with high standard equipment, including Multi Media Interface (MMI) as available option, optical parking system with rear view camera and Bang and Olufsen sound system.

The company had achieved a record for the 12th consecutive year by selling 964,151 cars in 2007 with revenue touching 33,617 million Euros and profit before tax 2,915 million Euros, Mr Birkner said.
