AP Rajya Sabha MP resigns

Hyderabad, Jul 21 (UNI) Former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP C Ramachandraiah, who quit the party recently, today resigned from his membership in the Upper House.

The sources said here, Mr Ramachandraih, who was elected as Rajya Sabha MP in 2004 from the TDP, had sent his resignation letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman for acceptance.

Mr Ramachandraiah quit the party expressing 'unhappiness' over the leadership of the TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu. He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1998 and re-elected in 2004. He was also a member of Committee on 'Rules and Finance'.

Mr Ramachandraiah was likely to join the new political party to be floated by the Telugu matinee idol Chiranjeevi in August.
