Two killed by lightning thunder in TN
Kancheepuram, Jul 20 (UNI) Two people were killed on the spot and one injured when heavy rain with lightning thunder struck them while they were taking shelter on a tree adjacent to the Mariamman temple at Manapakkam in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu today.
Official sources said they offered worship in the temple at 1430 hrs in view of the Adi festival and took shelter in front of the tree when the mishap occurred.
The deceased were identified as Arul Kumar(35) and Manikandan (22).
The injured Shankar (20) brother of Arul Kumar, was admitted to a hospital in Chengalpattu.
