Sangharsh Samiti sits on hunger strike in Jammu

Jammu, Jul 20 (UNI) Demanding cancellation of land transfer order, the members of Baba Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti started a week-long hunger strike here today.

Hundreds of members from various constituents of the samiti are participating in the hunger strike, which has been announced by the samiti Chairman Leela Karan at a meeting yesterday, demanding the land back to the Shrine Board and removal of state Governor N N Vohra.

However, the members pledged that the strike will continue upto July 27 in which, not only the members but students, teachers, women and other sections of the society will also participate.

Mr Sharma added that sit-in will also be staged in different parts of Jammu region, while the agitation will be more aggressive, if the Governor will not pay heed to their demands.
