Tirupati, Jul 20 (UNI) Mala Mahanadu President and MLC P Prabhakara Rao today said MRPS and Dalit organisations should come on a common platform for securing constitutional rights and to capture power in the coming assembly elections to Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said they were establishing a Sangarshana Committee and organising a National Conference on July 28 at Delhi, where people from SC and ST communities would discuss the issues, focusing on the constitutional rights and their strategies in the elections.

Stating that in the 2009 assembly poll, Mahanadu would contest in 30 seats, including three reserved costituencies and one general seat in Chittoor district, he urged the MRPS leaders, including Manda Krishna to set aside their differences to join in a united fight for securing reservations and constitutional rights in all sectors.

Mr Rao alleged that the Usha Mehra Commission report on sub-categorisation of SCs would not stand legal scrutiny and it was aimed at weakening the Dalit movement.

He also alleged that the report of the Commission was a 'bundle of inaccuracies'. It was similar to the Ramachandra Raju Commission appointed by the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) regime and a 'reproduction of the pamphlet brought out by MRPS leader Manda Krishna', he added.
