Blast at stone quarry injures 2 in TN

Perambalur, Jul 20: Two people were seriously injured in an explosion at a stone quarry at Erambalur in Perambalur district.

Police said the victims, both workers at the quarry, set the explosives last night to break rocks. When they went to the site this morning, the materials which were left unexploded went off suddenly, causing severe injuries to them.

They were rushed to the Government Headquarters Hospital here and later referred to the Government Headquarters Hospital at Tiruchirapalli. Their condition was stated to be critical, police added.
