"Aam Admi Bima" Yojna scheme introduced in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 20 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to cover rural landless and homeless people of the state under ''Aam Admi Bima Yojna'' scheme, which has been introduced by the Centre nation-wide since April 1, 2008 through Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
Official sources said here today that the people entitled to be benefitted under the scheme are rural landless and homeless, falling in the age group of 18 to 59 years.
These people would be provided insurance cover in case of natural or accidental death, besides permanent or partial disability.
Monthly premium would be Rs 200, of which 50 per cent would be provided by the Central Government and 50 per cent by the State Government.
They said the State Social Welfare Department would act as nodal agency.
The interested individuals can obtain application forms from respective Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, the sources added.
