Sikh organisations protests against Dera Chief in Jammu

Jammu, Jul 19 (UNI) Amid slogans, many Sikh organisations today staged protest against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh here.

Demanding his immediate arrest, the protestors raised slogans against the Dera chief and even tried to disrupt the traffic on Jammu-Kathua National Highway.

However, agitating Sikhs gathered at Digiana Ashram, in the city outskirts and staged a massive protest against the Dera chief.

''The protest was staged to register resentment against the killing of one of the Sikhs during the clashes between the Dera followers and Sikh in Dabwali,'' an agitator told UNI.

However, protestors also burnt the effigy of the Dera chief and burnt tyres to block the National Highway demanding a CBI inquiry against the Dera chief and urged both the Haryana and Punjab governments to register a case under Section 302 against him.
