School headmaster faints, dies in hospital

Malappuram, Kerala, July 19 (UNI) A headmaster, undergoing a re-orientation programme in a school in Malappuram district of Kerala, fainted and later died in a hospital today.

Police said Valillapuzha M L P School Headmaster James Augstine (43), who was admitted to a hospital in Kozhikode after he fainted while attending a cluster programme, died later in the hospital.

Unconfirmed reports said the teacher had sustained injuries during a protest demonstration on the text book issue, which turned violent at the school premises.

However, an investigation was on to find out the exact cause of the death, police added.
