Puducherry: Privilege Committee Meet postponed

Puducherry, Jul 19: The Privilege Committee of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly, scheduled to meet here today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Speaker A V Sreedharan, would now meet on July 31.

Announcing this in a communique,Assembly Secretary M Sivaprakasam, however, did not mention the reason for the postponment.

The committee was enquiring into allegations on Chief Secretary Rakesh Bihari making 'objectionable remarks' against the Council of Ministers at a review meeting here.

It issued notice to Mr Bihari in its first sitting and in the second sitting, decided to summon the officials who participated in the meeting for enquiry scheduled for today.
