PC inaugurates water supply project in AP capital
Hyderabad, Jul 19 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram today inaugurated ''Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project-Phase 2'', taken up at a cost of Rs 1,082 crore by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS and SB) in the city.
The project would enable to switch over to daily water supply in core city areas and support mega development projects like IT parks, international airport and the proposed satellite townships along the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The project would augment 90 MGD of water additionally to twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and surrounding areas of the river Krishna.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Union Minsiter for Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy, State Urban Development Minister K Ranga Rao and officials were also present.
