PAC and ENPO endeavour to find peaceful solution in Nagaland
Kohima, Jul 19 (UNI) In an effort to bridge the gap among the various Naga tribes, the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) under the Nagaland goverment held a meeting with the leaders of the Eastern Naga Peoples Organisation (ENPO) at Mon, the district headquarters.
Official sources said here today that in the meeting, the PAC called for an urgent need for all, including the NGOs and civil societies, to find a solution to the six-decade old Naga political issue. It also appealed to the people to promote peace and unity.
The PAC leaders felt that despite the internecine killings plaguing the society, the people of different sections, civil societies and the underground outfits, with whom they had met, were in support of a peaceful solution.
The PAC appealed to all underground groups to restrain from fratricidal killings.
Emphasising on role of the ENPO in the Naga struggle, the PAC appealed for the organisation to be represented in the apex tribal organisation - the Naga Hoho - despite it being a separate entity.
